Valerie Austyn

VALERIE AUSTYN has been writing, directing, performing and storytelling since her early childhood in Texas. Val continue to pursue her interests in acting, dance and musical productions throughout high school and college, culminating in a move to NYC and a principal role as “Shy” in the first National Tour of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She has since been an active member in the Westport/Weston communities for the past 17 years, performing with community theater groups like Fourth Wall Down productions, and for local charitable events, including both versions of Forbidden Westport for Westport Sunrise Rotary Club, of which she is a past president. After spending over two decades in the corporate world of banking and finance, Valerie is delighted to be working with Slant of Light Theater and once again to be sharing her talent and love of story-telling and performing within the local arts community.  B.A.-Theater-University of Texas at Austin
