Shannon Gerrity

Shannon Gerrity first began her theatrical career at The American Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, CT.  She helped paint sets for Hamlet and Othello.  She carved the headboard for Othello’s headboard which later moved onto Broadway and a U.S. tour.  From there, Shannon moved onto Long Wharf Theater in New Haven, CT.  Painting sets for Pal Joey, The Bathers, Albert Herring and Not Quite Jerusalem.  She also dabbled in costumes and wardrobe which brought her out to the Santa Fe Opera for their 1993 Summer Season.  To actually support herself throughout her theatrical career, Shannon styled then designed sets and ads for Ethan Allen’s World Headquarters in Danbury, CT.  While working, Shannon was also raising her only daughter and found herself backstage at various and sundry elementary and middle school productions.  Noting that inevitably, something would be “needed” in regards to props, set, or costuming and Shannon was usually able to pull something out of her “magic hat” aka-the trunk of her car or her tool box with handy hot glue gun!! Bridgeport Occupied is Shannon’s first official credited assignment and she is forever grateful to Stacy and Cameron for their belief in her!
